Greenkeeper (Turf Tradesperson)

A school in the Eastern suburbs are seeking an outstanding and well-qualified Greenkeeper to join our Building and Grounds Department. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Adelaide campus and associated sites.

The Role

You will be responsible for the daily maintenance, renovation, and upward transition of all school recreational turf and sporting fields. Working between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, you will ensure our grounds remain in peak condition for our 1,700+ students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain all school lawns, sporting fields, and practice areas.
• Formulate and implement turf renovation and fertiliser programs.
• Program and maintain irrigation systems.
• Operate and maintain specialized turf machinery and equipment.
• Collaborate with Sport and PE staff regarding oval requirements.

About You

We are looking for a proactive professional with a strong work ethic and the following qualifications:

• Education: Certificate III or IV in Sports Turf Management, Horticulture, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in greenkeeping or sports turf management.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge of soil fertility, irrigation, and pest control.
• Attributes: Physical fitness for manual tasks and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Licensing: Must hold a valid Driver’s Licence.

Requirements & Compensation

• Salary: $82,000 – $86,500 per annum.
• Mandatory: A current Working With Children Check (DHS) is a condition of employment.
• Certifications: You must also hold (or be willing to obtain) Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) training, Protective Practices, and First Aid/CPR certifications.
